Purpose

Our purpose is to create a community-based digital resource to document and archive the 15,000 + home Tapestry development project in Hesperia California, along with its social, economic, and biological effect on local residents, and its impact on the nearby Mojave River Basin and surrounding environment.

Due to a lack of information regarding the Tapestry Project from the city of Hesperia, we plan on documenting it for the next 25 + years through media such as photography, video, and written journals to keep the community informed and the city of Hesperia accountable.

This story is part of the local environmental reporting initiative Unfiltered IE that is supported by the civic media project The Listening Post Collective and funded by a generous grant from the Ford Foundation.
