July 14th, 2022 Part One

This series of photographs is the first set of images taken after the Tapestry project began in early July of 2022. It is a few miles from the current site of development, but will eventually be a transitional space between the Tapestry project and the city of Hesperia. These images were taken on the corner of Serrano Avenue x Shoshone Street, Farmdale Avenue, and the surrounding areas between the two locations. The purpose of these photographs is to document and show the outward development surrounding the Tapestry Project.

The first location, Serrano Avenue x Shoshone Street, is an abandoned lot that was once used to hold construction materials but has been left to waste. It is unknown how long these materials have been here but it has been repurposed to be a small BMX course by local residents. The materials in this location include various silt socks, roofing tiles, various plastic barriers, wooden pallets, plastic paint barrels, and other items.

The four photographs on Farmdale Avenue show the natural desert landscape behind a long barrier of silt fencing. It is unknown why the construction fencing is being used, but due to it being a connecting street for the Tapestry project and the city of Hesperia, the development will take place soon.
